End User License Agreement

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you and the developer of Dictovox ("we", "us") and governs your use of the Dictovox desktop application ("the Software"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to this Agreement.

1. License grant

Upon purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use one copy of the Software on one computer per license purchased. Licenses are perpetual for the version you purchase: pay once, use it for as long as you like.

2. Free trial

You may evaluate the full Software free of charge for 7 days. Continued use after the trial period requires a purchased license.

3. What you may not do

• Share, resell, rent, lease, or sublicense your license key.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
• Circumvent the trial period or license validation.
• Use the Software in violation of applicable law.

4. Open-source components

The Software includes open-source components, including the Whisper speech-recognition model and whisper.cpp. These components are licensed under their own terms, listed in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file included with the Software. Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights under those licenses.

5. Updates

We may provide updates to the Software at our discretion. Updates may be provided free of charge or, for major new versions, offered as a separate purchase.

6. Refunds

Purchases are processed by Stripe, our merchant of record. If the Software does not work for you, contact us at sanjin.dumancic@yahoo.com within 14 days of purchase and we will make it right.

7. Privacy

Speech recognition runs entirely on your device; your audio is never sent to us. See the Privacy Policy for details.

8. Disclaimer of warranty

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Transcription output is generated automatically and may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing it before use.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Software. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.

10. Termination

This license terminates automatically if you breach this Agreement. Upon termination you must stop using the Software and delete all copies.

11. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the country in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
